Biography
My field of specialization is fire ecology. I am interested in advancing research about the ecological role of fire, how climate, fire and vegetation are related over time and space, and how management can promote the beneficial aspects of fire and minimize the negative consequences. I use a variety of approaches to address my questions, including field measurements, remote sensing, tree-ring analysis, and modeling.
Education
I have a PhD in Forest Ecology from the School of Forestry at Northern Arizona University, a MESc from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, and a BA in Public Policy Analysis & Biology from Pomona College.
